HISTORY

 Mr Teo Siew Geok

Bee Chun Heng was founded in the 1930s by the late Mr Teo Siew Geok, who developed the sauces and methods that made his charcoal-grilled Bak Kwa unique. Mr Teo started his first Bak Kwa business at 71 Rochor Road following the popularity and high demand for his Bak Kwa. He then expanded his business to Victoria Street and Beach Road. As his business grew, Mr. Teo continued to innovate and perfect his recipe.

In 1974, Mr Teo registered Bee Chun Heng (Lau Po) and passed on the business to his son, Mr Teo Khuan Kew, who eventually opened his first shop at 89 Frankel Ave. The younger Teo continued to run the business according to his father's recipes and methods, ensuring that Bee Chun Heng (Lau Po) remained true to its origins.


Over the years, Bee Chun Heng (Lau Po) has continued to expand its product range to include other dried meat products such as Pork Floss, Chicken Bak Kwa, Chilli Minced Pork Bak Kwa etc. However, their Sliced and Chilli Minced Pork Bak Kwa remains the star of the show, and the Teo family is committed to maintain the quality and authenticity of their product.
